We have the oportunity to have a rottweiler / bull mastiff cross puppy (not born yet). I am concerned aout the cross nature of the dog, and also how Monty will take to him, as Monty is like another child to my husband and I and is quite spoilt hence demanding, which is why my husband thinks another puppy would be good for him. However we are not ignorant to the “pack” principle of discipline. I am very worried that Monty will not take to this puppy in anyway. He is young enough he likely would enjoy having another puppy to play with. He would be far more likely to accept a female if you got one. Get him neutered and have her spayed by the time she is 6 months old, and they should get along fine.
